Good Change

Growth can mean change. It also brings more service opportunities. Growth may mean a different seat in the worship center or a different time for a Sunday morning community group.  Growth can mean new teams and new friends.

I am not always the first person to make changes easily. I know that may surprise you but my cups have been in the same place in my kitchen cabinet, in my home, for the past 13 years!  I just celebrated 15 years at First Baptist Beaumont and no doubt, we have seen change. I have served in 4 different locations, in portable classrooms made of curtains and in modern classrooms like we enjoy today. The last few weeks, I have had LeeRoy moving tables all over the kids wing so when children arrive, we are prepared for them.  I have spoken with nearly 100 people over the last month about service opportunities in our children’s ministry on Sundays and in AWANA.  Wow!  Growth can lead to amazing moments as teams come together to teach the Bible and lead our children well.
For the first time in the last 15 years, we have our Children’s Ministry available consistently at 3 Sunday services.  At 9:00 and 10:15, we have classes for babies through 6th grade.  At 11:30, read this carefully, we have classes for babies through 2nd grade.  Yes you read that correctly.  Our amazing children’s ministry team has come together and extended our 11:30 class to second grade!!!  If you have children in this age group, you now have the opportunity to choose the 11:30 service!
Countless teams, leaders, helpers and teachers have come together to make 3 services of the Children's Ministry available to those that attend our Sunday Worship Services.  To each of you, I want to say “Thank You”.  I truly appreciate your commitment to investing in our children and begin a part of this ministry. I am excited to walk this journey with you as we teach the Bible to our children (by the way, our curriculum teaches the entire Bible in 3 years – pretty amazing!). God continues to bless us beyond our greatest expectations!
